Orientation and Settling In

Starting early learning is a big milestone — for children and families. Our orientation process is designed to ensure your child feels safe, supported and confident as they begin their time with Adelaide Early Learning. Once your enrolment is confirmed, we will work with you to arrange a personalised orientation plan that suits your child’s needs.

What Orientation Looks Like

Orientation may include:

• Short visits with a parent or caregiver present
• Gradually increasing time at the centre
• Opportunities to meet educators
• Explore the learning environment

Time to build familiarity with routines, spaces and peers.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Some children settle quickly, while others benefit from a slower transition — and we respect and support both.

Supporting a Smooth Transition

Our educators take the time to get to know your child, their interests, routines and comfort needs. We work closely with families to share information, communicate openly and adjust the orientation process as needed.

Our goal is for every child to feel:
• Secure and confident
• Known and understood
• Comfortable forming relationships with educators and peers

Families are always welcome to talk with us about how their child is settling in, and we encourage ongoing communication during this important transition period.

Our daily fees vary depending your child’s age, and the days attended.

To help you estimate your fees:

  • Visit StartingBlocks.gov.au – Early Childhood Education & Care for general information about early learning and care
  • Use the Child Care Subsidy Calculator on StartingBlocks.gov.au to estimate your CCS and weekly costs
  • Apply for CCS through myGov / Centrelink (we’re happy to help guide you through this process if needed)

For personalised fee information and to learn more about what’s included, we encourage families to book a tour so our team can talk through fees, inclusions and CCS in more detail.
